Christantus Uche Ignites Comfortable Crystal Palace Victory at Irish Side Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their first-ever European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Without key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS ought to be sufficient to secure direct entry to the knockout stages, especially after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This match offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, finding the net for the second game in succession.

Shelbourne were hanging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for two agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before coolly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.
The only concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise positive night for the visiting side.
