Passionate fans of Ariana Grande are demanding that a person who breached a barricade and grabbed the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good debut be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.

A viral footage depicts the individual from Australia bypassing media personnel and lunging at Grande while the performers made its way down a promenade surrounded by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the surprised actress away from Mr Wen, who was observed being removed of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was scheduled to attend court on the following morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.

Record of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Controversial Figure", has crashed a concert or event. His Instagram feed features videos of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the artist's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the area last winter.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is obviously a legal violation," wrote an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen posted of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Express Concern Over Ariana's Well-being

Numerous followers blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming hundreds.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented a further comment on Instagram.

Several supporters also criticised guards at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals called for social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In clips shared widely, Grande looked startled when she was approached by the individual. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.

Grande has not issued a statement on the incident, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

Many of supporters had congregated in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good regional premiere in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it started.

The motion picture, to be released on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-part version of the acclaimed theatrical musical Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely bond between two contrasting witches.

The musical itself is a spin-off of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a rosé sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who acts as the villainous character, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were alongside cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of 2024 in the UK, and earned a dozen award recognitions, securing several for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
