New Details Emerge About the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Bodies

Fresh particulars have surfaced concerning the tragic passing of acclaimed director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their Los Angeles home home on Sunday.

The Initial Report

According to a report citing a confidential source, a practitioner arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the house. The practitioner then reached out to the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.

After gaining access to the residence, Romy found her father's body. Reports state she then left the home distraught, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. A companion who had gone with her promptly called 911. Following this, paramedics located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Legal Charges

Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, as well as the alleged use of a deadly weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently detained and is ineligible for bail.

Correcting the Record

The anonymous source questioned several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.

The source also refuted published notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "used to working through [Nick's] problems together."

This correction includes descriptions of reportedly "erratic" behavior by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. Although the source said they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they said that reports of a "blow-up" between the two were inaccurate.

Ongoing Inquiry Timeline

Per law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established as of Tuesday whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts indicated the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for some hours.

Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, stated his client had a medical issue and would be unable to attend until no sooner than Wednesday.
