Outrage as Beloved South African DJ Gunned Down in the Heart of Johannesburg.
A prominent South African radio and club DJ has been murdered in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation struggling with persistent crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was shot and killed in the downtown area on Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities reported the forty-year-old media personality was confronted by three suspects, with one opened fire on him before running away.
The purpose behind the shooting is unknown and no suspects have been apprehended have been made, as per the official statement.
The Fatal Incident
Law enforcement indicated that Stock was ambushed as he was exiting a building close to the Carlton Centre.
He had been present for hours at the site overseeing the installation of safety equipment, which had been controversially occupied by squatters, as per local media.
"Authorities believe the deceased was approached by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they opened fire at him before running from the location on foot," a police statement said.

The DJ tried to run away after he was shot but collapsed across the street.
