Performer Refutes Anti-Vax Views Following Narrating Controversial Pandemic Feature
Liam Neeson has lent his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the legitimacy of vaccinations and lauds one-time health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.
The Feature's Provocative Origins
Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a well-known publication written by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for claims that Covid was linked to a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.
The book's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has also written books with controversial radio host a known commentator. The producer recently posted praising Neeson's participation in the project.
An Unequivocal Rebuttal
Representatives for Neeson have released a comment strongly denying claims that he supports anti-immunization sentiments.
"Many understand that corruption might be present within the medical sector, but that must not be equated to being against vaccines," the response states. "Neeson is not, and remains not, anti-vax. His considerable work with Unicef reinforces his consistent support for public-health initiatives."
It noted that the star was not involved in crafting the documentary's messaging and that concerns about its assertions are best addressed to the filmmakers.
Major Assertions In the Film
In the film, the script spoken by Neeson makes several provocative statements:
- It states that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "complete compliance" to public institutions.
- It declares that "science has become highly influenced by politics."
- Kennedy is interviewed saying, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they are not properly vetted."
- The narration takes aim at Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it references a view that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."
Historical Background and Ongoing Debates
The film further cites a past television report about AIDS medication trials on children, which was afterwards the focus of a correction by the corporation for editorial breaches.
In recent weeks, RFK Jr directed the CDC to change its longstanding position that there is no link between vaccines and autism. This claim is also referenced in the documentary, despite a recent study from the World Health Organisation confirming no evidence has been found.
A Previous Statement of Advocacy
Differing from the documentary's message, Neeson has previously expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Two years ago, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary triumph," noting that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's voice saying, "This is not the conclusion of our journey. It is the dawn of a new chapter."
