Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American actor Pat Finn, who featured in beloved television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles, California recently following cancer treatment since 2022, as reported by media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his relatives said in a announcement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.
He also had a repeating character on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.

A Life in Improv
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named "Beer Shark Mice".
"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote online.
The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
