The direst projected effects of the climate emergency for the UK have been outlined by researchers, encompassing a scorching 4C jump in average temperatures to a 6.5-foot rise in sea levels. A separate possibility foresees a plunge of 6C in temperatures following the shutdown of key Atlantic Ocean currents, which would profoundly upset food production and energy needs.
